Björn has been a partner at Gernandt & Danielsson since 1994 and is co-head of the firm’s dispute resolution practice group.

Björn specialises in dispute resolution and acts as counsel in commercial litigations as well as in domestic and international arbitrations. He has served as counsel for Swedish, foreign, and multinational corporations in disputes across a wide range of business areas and industry sectors, including energy, infrastructure and construction, joint ventures, cooperation and shareholders’ agreements, telecom, agency and distribution agreements, public transportation, licensing and trade secrets, insurance, professional liability, M&A, financing and financial services.

He also advises on public procurement matters and other general corporate matters. In addition, Björn frequently serves as an arbitrator.

Our dispute resolution group is renowned in both Sweden and internationally and represents clients in all types of commercial disputes. We are known as advisors in high-profile and complex disputes where the stakes are high.

We have longstanding experience in representing clients in some of the largest and most complex Swedish and international commercial disputes that have taken place in Sweden. The benefits of our extensive experience are regularly confirmed by independent ranking institutes and the fact that our dispute resolution lawyers are frequently appointed as arbitrators.

The dispute resolution practice assists clients with everything related to commercial disputes, such as procedural status assessments, investigations, proceedings before courts of general jurisdiction and administrative courts, domestic arbitrations and international arbitrations (such as the SCC, ICC, and LCIA), mediation, settlement negotiations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Together with the firm’s experts in financial regulation, we have for many years been the leading counsel in contentious regulatory matters with public authorities. Similarly, we work fully integrated with the firm’s EU & Competition law experts in investigations and disputes, covering matters across antitrust and general EU law.

We offer a dedicated and hardworking team of experts with solid experience in resolving disputes in different sectors in an effective and goal-oriented way and with a strong focus on the strategic considerations required in a high-profile and complex dispute.

Gernandt & Danielsson’s business is founded on our clients’ best interests and ensuring that they benefit from our services. We aim to be the most highly respected and sought-after commercial law adviser and employer in Sweden.

We provide commercial law advice to large and medium-sized Swedish and global clients. We have acted as adviser in some of the largest and most complex transactions and disputes ever seen in Sweden. We advise our clients on most kinds of commercial law issues arising at companies and other organisations, from transactions and disputes to general legal issues encountered in day-to-day business operations.

Since we are strongly committed to the law and aim to improve continuously, we engage in targeted work aimed at developing the expertise, commercial acumen and project management of the firm and our lawyers. Our strength in these areas is commended year after year in leading client satisfaction surveys.

History
Gernandt & Danielsson was founded in 1992 when a group of partners and their colleagues left one of the largest law firms in Sweden at the time to start up a firm of their own. The new firm was relatively small, but quickly acquired work on large, complex and often international matters.

Just over 25 years later, we still work with major clients on large-scale matters, but we are no longer a small firm. Today, our offices on Hamngatan in Stockholm house approximately 100 employees, 70 of whom are lawyers. By expanding through a deliberate policy of organic growth, we have succeeded in retaining and developing the original corporate culture, characterised by high quality and focus on the best interests of our clients.
